Amelia Wheatley has a broad commercial and public law practice. Amelia was called to the Bar in 2005. Prior to that, she practised as a solicitor in the litigation group at Freehills and was an associate to the late Justice Cooper in the Federal Court of Australia. Amelia was admitted as a solicitor in February 1999, having completed articles of clerkship while studying Law externally.
Amelia is a graduate of the Queensland University of Technology, holding a Bachelor of Laws (Hons)(1998), and James Cook University, holding a Bachelor of Commerce (1994) (majoring in Accounting). She also holds a Master of Laws (2008) from the University of Queensland.
Amelia is a member of the Bar Association of Queensland's Migration Law Committee.
